What is the HK4As |
|
|
|
Established in 1957, the HK4As is managed and run by an Executive Committee and Sub-Committees. Committee members, elected from the senior management of member agencies, deal with issues concerning the future of the advertising industry and the business of member agencies.
There are currently around 20 members which are major advertising agencies sharing common objectives. These include the setting and maintaining of standards of business ethics, enforcing an advertising standards code, acting as a means of arbitration between agencies, and providing a forum for the exchange of views between advertising agencies and other engaged in the industry.
The Association organizes training programmes, membership activities and awards to recognize and honour the best work created in Hong Kong and China.
Message from the Chairman of HK4As
Advertising is one of the key components in the Creative Industries, as well as a staunch advocacy of the HK4As. As a mainstream profession that requires a myriad of skill sets, our industry is proud that it has been attributed with recognition in its own right. In fact, effective use of advertising is instrumental to the success of a wide range of business operations and their profitability, while the local economy benefits from work both directly and indirectly generated by the industry.
I am pleased to see that our field continues to be driven by outstanding talents - those whose creativity never ceases to amaze, and those who know how to produce the optimal impact through their thorough understanding of the functionality of the media. Our participation in competitions, winning awards and pooling regional resources through our multi-national agencies have helped give us a foothold on the international arena. In the coming year, we will continue to reinforce our creative excellence to affirm Hong Kong's status as Asia's creative hub.
Our external events and training programmes in the past year have been very well received, proving the allure of the advertising profession to the general public and aspirants alike. The Association will continue to roll out more educational plans for members and other interested individuals with the aim of encouraging innovative ideas and quality productions among ourselves, as well as attracting new talents to the industry.
All the best in 2008!
