EFFIE Awards
The New York American Marketing Association introduced the EFFIE Awards in 1968. It is the only national award to recognize creative achievement in meeting and exceeding advertising objectives. As such, it honors the "real world" work of agency/client partnerships that create, manage and build brands that have become a part of the American landscape.
Winning an EFFIE is about meeting a challenge and succeeding. Entry requirements are demanding, and so are the judges. A blue ribbon judging panel comprised of top marketing and advertising management, research, and creative executives evaluates the entries in two phases. During first round judging case briefs are scored without considering creative materials. In the next round, judging is competitive within each category on both the case brief and the creative material. Gold, Silver and Bronze EFFIE winners are announced each June at a gala attended by some 1,000 of the industry's luminaries.
The evening's highest honour - the Grand EFFIE - goes to the campaign that achieves the highest overall score of the year. Grand EFFIE winners represent campaigns that best combine all the disciplines that create a successful marketing program - planning, market research, media, creative and account management.
In the words of a recent winner, "Effective advertising is advertising that sells; advertising that builds market share. The EFFIE award is the symbol of effective advertising and a tribute to the client and agency partnership that strives to create it.
EFFIE celebrates creative and effective advertising and reinforces the teamwork among advertising agency, client and researchers. It will continue to do this, holding advertising up to the highest level of scrutiny in the U.S. and around the world.
Since the EFFIE Awards were established, we have honoured some remarkable success stories, and the EFFIE Awards program has spread to other continents. With EFFIE Award programs in 30 countries worldwide, EFFIE has come to be recognized as the global benchmark for effective advertising.
